After an exhilarating three days of Beyblade X at London Comic Con I am happy to share with you the massive success and rundown of the whole event!
Free Play
Over the three days we saw massive interest from con goers. We had people of all ages coming up to play, with a lot of adults joining in due to nostalgia!
By providing everyone with a range of blades, ratchets and bits to choose from, we were able to give people a true experience of what makes Beyblade X unique. We explained the rulings and changes that have been made to this generation, with a hugely positive reception. People were amazed at how much faster and more dynamic the gameplay has become since the previous generations they had played, with a lot of people purchasing sets to take back home!
We even saw a range of familiar faces show up from across the country, bringing their personal beys in to get involved in our free-play area!
Tournaments
Tournaments took the format of single-round elimination each day with a 32-player cap and a start time of 3PM. The sign-ups to the tournament were first-come-first-serve, with the tournaments filling up within the the first two hours each day!
Bladers were provided with tournament-grade launchers at every station and were able to choose from a selection of blades, ratchets and bits to form their beys.
Matchups were completely randomised and announced by myself over the PA. We saw a lot of unexpected results between matches, with a lot of newcomers getting through over some seasoned players!
The highlight for me and Fuzz was when our own local player, Dom, took home first place on Friday's tournament, bagging himself a stadium battle set!
Another massive shout-out goes to Saturday's winner, who very kindly gave his first-place prize to the runner up! It was really heartwarming to see and was great to show people what the community is all about.
Thank you
A massive thank you to everyone who came down and took part. We hope you enjoyed the experience as much as we did and hopefully see you at future events!
